Myanmar Travel Blog

Travel guides, itineraries, abandoned places, street art and off-the-beaten-path places in Myanmar (Burma)

Hello and welcome to our Myanmar travel blog. You will find all our blog posts from Myanmar (Burma) in this section of our website.

Maybe you found our Myanmar travel blog because you are considering visiting Myanmar, or perhaps you are partway through planning a trip to South East Asia. Whatever the reason, we hope we can provide some useful resources and travel tips for Myanmar.

For all its political turmoil, Myanmar remains a beautiful country. We both know Myanmar quite well and have travelled there several times – Mark first visited as a twenty-something backpacker, and Kirsty first went on a work trip around twenty years ago. We have backpacked around Myanmar a few times since we began our nomadic life and spent four months working in the country a few years ago. Compared to the other South-East Asian countries, Myanmar receives relatively few travellers and you can still get a real sense of adventure without going too far off the beaten path.

Our Myanmar blog posts are generally aimed at independent travellers and backpackers like us and have a strong focus on travelling around using public transport, staying in budget accommodation and exploring off-the-beaten-path and lesser-visited places.
