The sculpture on top of the pantheon represents two soldiers in the thick of battle. One of the soldiers is wounded and the other one is protecting him while, at the same time, continuing to fight. The base of the monument is an ossuary, the sides of which are adorned with relief depicting various scenes such as the welcoming of Soviet soldiers, the struggle of the ordinary people against fascism and the euphoria of life under communist rule.
