My Libyan guide and I were on our way from the port city of Tobruk to Benghazi when suddenly we spotted an approaching sandstorm. It was about 4pm and just before the storm arrived, the sky went completely red and I quickly got out of the car to take the enclosed photo before the full might of the storm was upon us. We remained stationary to let the storm pass. It took about twenty minutes for this to happen and after the storm had moved on we got out to inspect the car. There was no damage but the vehicle was completely covered in sand and the asphalt road we were travelling on had all but disappeared. Lucky we were on the outskirts of Benghazi and got back to the city without further incident.
I see that Imhotep did not emerge from within the wall of sand. Maybe because you were in Libya rather than Egypt?
I assume this is a reference to The Mummy?
Of course! Mind you, if Rachel Weisz had popped out of the sand, that wouldn’t have been so bad.
