Slovenia Travel Blog
Travel guides, itineraries, abandoned places, street art and off-the-beaten-path places in SloveniaHello and welcome to our Slovenia travel blog. You will find all our Slovenia blog posts in this section of our website.
Maybe you found our Slovenia travel blog because you are considering a visit to the Balkans, or perhaps you are partway through planning a trip to southern Europe. Whatever the reason, we hope we can provide some useful resources and travel tips for Slovenia.
Perhaps the former Yugoslavia country where the socialist legacy lingers least, some parts of Slovenia have a Mediterranean Europe vibe, whilst others feel like Alpine Europe. Slovenia is considered to be a Balkan country, although many would argue against this categorisation. We have visited Slovenia a couple of times and our most recent visits have focussed on getting to know the capital better – in particular discovering the alternative side of Ljubljana. Driving is easy in Slovenia and it is a great destination for a road trip – we combined Slovenia with Croatia and it worked out well.
Our Slovenia blog posts are generally aimed at independent travellers and backpackers like us and have a strong focus on travelling around using public transport, staying in budget accommodation and exploring off-the-beaten-path and lesser-visited places.
