Taiwan Travel Blog
Travel guides, itineraries, abandoned places, street art and off-the-beaten-path places in TaiwanHello and welcome to our Taiwan travel blog. You will find all our Taiwan blog posts in this section of our website.
Maybe you found our Taiwan travel blog because you are thinking about visiting Taiwan, or perhaps you are partway through planning a trip to northeast Asia. Whatever the reason, we hope we can provide some useful resources and travel tips for Taiwan.
We first visited Taiwan in 2010 (it was Mark’s 70th country) and although we travelled there not really knowing what to expect, we appreciated the lack of tourists, warmth and friendliness of the Taiwanese people and ease of travel. Whilst many visit Taiwan for its ancient cities, forests, mountains and rugged coastline, our second visit to Taiwan (in 2018) was all about abandoned buildings, street art and Taiwan’s less conventional sights. It was this visit that really won us over and Taiwan is now a destination we frequently recommend to travellers.
Our Taiwan blog posts are generally aimed at independent travellers and backpackers like us and have a strong focus on travelling around using public transport, staying in budget accommodation and exploring off-the-beaten-path and lesser-visited places.
